Supporting Life-Changing Healthcare: Partnership with Cure Zimbabwe Children’s Hospital
One of THZ’s most impactful social contributions is its support for Cure Zimbabwe Children’s Hospital, a trailblazing institution in Bulawayo and the first and only charitable paediatric orthopaedic hospital in Zimbabwe.
Cure Zimbabwe provides free or low-cost treatment for children living with conditions such as:
- Clubfoot
- Bowed legs
- Knock knees
- Other orthopaedic disabilities
The hospital operates with 41 beds, three operating rooms, and a fully equipped outpatient clinic. Beyond surgery, patients receive holistic support including physiotherapy, emotional counselling, and access to adaptive devices like wheelchairs and crutches.
In recognition of the hospital’s compassionate mission, THZ made a meaningful donation of 500kg of sugar, aimed at reducing the cost burden of feeding young patients who sometimes stay as long as five months during recovery.
This contribution forms part of THZ’s broader commitment to uplifting vulnerable children and strengthening Zimbabwe’s healthcare ecosystem.
Ensuring Continued Education for Hospitalised Children
Many of Cure Zim’s patients are school-aged children. To ensure they do not fall behind in their education during lengthy treatment and recovery periods, the hospital provides on-site teachers who conduct lessons and support continuous learning.
THZ’s partnership helps sustain this nurturing environment where children receive not only medical care but also the dignity of uninterrupted education and emotional support.
