Speaker Spotlight: Why We’re Excited to Welcome Sussy Wanjala

Sussy Wanjala is a sustainability consultant and project coordinator with over eight years of experience in sustainability research, reporting, nature-based solutions, and stakeholder engagement. She is the founder of Akili Green, a sustainability consultancy supporting businesses, investors, and governments in navigating climate action, carbon markets, and evolving ESG and compliance requirements.

Previously, Sussy worked with Soil Association Certification in the UK, where she supported business development by offering validation and verification services for nature-based solutions internationally. She has also served as Knowledge Manager at the Kenya Private Sector Alliance, where her work focused on sustainability standards, ESG frameworks, and translating complex environmental and social requirements into practical, implementable strategies. She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development in Practice and brings a people-centered approach to sustainability governance, grounded in both technical expertise and on-the-ground realities.
