Jos is a seasoned sustainable development consultant with over two decades of experience supporting businesses, governments, and communities to design and implement effective sustainability and ESG strategies. He is a cofounder of Akili Green, where his work focuses on climate action, circular economy, inclusive business models, and sustainable innovation across Europe and Africa.
Jos has held senior consulting, research, and leadership roles with organizations including MVO Nederland (CSR The Netherlands), EY (formerly BECO Group), and SIB Kenya. His experience spans sustainability strategy development, ESG frameworks, carbon markets, circular economy, and transition management, combining rigorous research with practical, implementable solutions. He has led multi-country research programs, managed complex stakeholder partnerships, and supported investment and innovation projects in energy, waste, agriculture, and inclusive finance.
In addition to his advisory work, Jos is an experienced public speaker, trainer, and lecturer, delivering executive education on CSR, ESG, and sustainable business strategy, including as a resident lecturer at Erasmus University. He brings a systems-thinking perspective to sustainability governance, grounded in innovation and policy engagement.
