As part of our commitment to promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) best practices in Zimbabwe, ESG Network Zimbabwe this week conducted a comprehensive training program for employees from Eureka Mine. The training aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate ESG considerations into their daily operations.
Training Overview
The two-day training program held on 19& 20 March 2025 covered a range of topics, including:
- Introduction to ESG – a comprehensive overview of ESG factors, exploring the key concepts, benefits, and challenges of ESG, as well as its implications for businesses, investors, and society as a whole.
- ESG Frameworks and Standards – an overview of ESG frameworks and standards
- ESG Reporting and Disclosure: Best practices for ESG reporting and disclosure
- Governance – how to identify and evaluate the key governance issues to be considered under ESG reporting.
This comprehensive training aimed for participants to be able to:
- Define ESG and its components
- Explain the evolution and significance of ESG
- Identify the benefits of integrating ESG considerations into business strategy and investment decisions
- Recognize the role of stakeholders in ESG decision-making
The ESG Network Zimbabwe will continue to support the Eureka Mine in their ESG journey through:
- Mentorship: Providing guidance and support to ensure successful ESG implementation.
- Resources: Sharing relevant ESG tools {e.g. ESG Vision Pro}, templates, and research to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Networking: Facilitating connections with other organizations and experts in the ESG field.
