This guide is intended as a practical tool for businesses in Zimbabwe. It can be used as a primer on corporate social responsibility and it is intended for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as large corporations in all industries and provinces. As such, it contains information on how to assess the effects of business activities on stakeholders, develop and implement a corporate social responsibility strategy and commitments, and measure, evaluate and report on performance and stakeholder engagement. It also helps Zimbabwean and other multinational corporations operating and investing on the African continent to understand the specific CSR environment in Zimbabwe and Africa at large.

Mr Razawo said that he believes that senior managers in large corporations, SMEs right down to micro-businesses should find this Guide valuable, as will management teams, board members and front-line employees, and industry association personnel who work with businesses. We believe this Guide will also prove useful to those already engaged in CSR activities. Finally, we hope those outside the commercial world (such as, government officials, representatives of non-governmental organizations and members of the public) will gain insights into the challenges firms face when addressing the effects of their activities on society.
