ESG Network Zimbabwe successfully conducted a transformative Board ESG Capacity Building Workshop for Centragrid (Private) Limited on 24 October 2025, strengthening the company’s commitment to sustainability, ethical governance, and responsible business leadership.
The interactive, one-day session equipped Centragrid’s board members and senior executives with practical tools to integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into their corporate strategy — aligning with both global sustainability standards and Zimbabwe’s renewable energy vision.
Training Overview
The workshop offered deep insights into how ESG principles can enhance business resilience, attract investment, and create long-term value.
The training covered six core modules designed to operationalize sustainability across all levels of leadership:
- ESG Fundamentals – Understanding the evolution from CSR to ESG and its importance to renewable energy.
- The Business Case for ESG – Leveraging ESG for innovation, investor confidence, and competitive advantage.
- Governance and Accountability – Strengthening transparency and ethical leadership.
- ESG Standards and Reporting – Benchmarking against global frameworks for effective disclosures.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Materiality – Building trust and identifying key sustainability priorities.
- Sustainability Strategy and Implementation – Embedding ESG into corporate structures, policies, and performance systems.
Advancing Sustainable Leadership
Through this session, Centragrid reaffirmed its leadership in Zimbabwe’s renewable energy transformation. The training provided board members with the tools to make informed, sustainability-driven decisions that align with stakeholder expectations, regulatory compliance, and climate-conscious business growth.
