Business leaders, sustainability practitioners, and development stakeholders gathered on 15 May for the Mashonaland West ESG and CSR Awards Gala Dinner, an event that celebrated organisations and individuals demonstrating leadership in environmental stewardship, social impact, and responsible governance.
The gala dinner, held in conjunction with the ESG Autumn School, recognised outstanding contributions to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ESG implementation across sectors including mining, agriculture, manufacturing, education, and community development.
Award recipients were commended for initiatives ranging from community empowerment programmes and environmental conservation projects to ethical governance practices and sustainable business innovation.
The event underscored the growing momentum around ESG adoption in Zimbabwe, with speakers noting that sustainability is increasingly becoming central to business competitiveness, investor confidence, and long-term economic resilience.
Attendees also highlighted the importance of recognising organisations that are actively contributing to national development priorities through responsible and inclusive business practices.
The gala dinner concluded with a renewed call for stronger collaboration between the private sector, academia, civil society, and government to advance sustainability goals and foster a more inclusive green economy.
