CSRNZ”- What major CSR project did your organization work on last year?
ES:- Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe constructed an office block with twelve offices and ablutions at the Zimbabwe Republic Police Chiredzi District Depot. The project is a partnership with ZRP to provide office space to some 60 officers who are currently squatting in a makeshift building.
CSRNZ: What does break the bias means to you?
ES:-Breaking the bias means that in the modern world ladies can handle all tasks the same way as men. We now find ladies at all levels of employment handling different challenging positions. We are breaking the bias in our communities, workplaces, schools, colleges and universities. In areas where people often said women could not do certain tasks, we are finally saying WE CAN. In this era women are not only wives and mothers but they are Operations Managers, General Managers, electrical, civil and chemical engineers. The mining sector has women, agriculture has women – not to boast but we can finally say that as women we have managed to break the bias and excel in the various sectors. Thereby further assisting in the betterment of the economy.
