CSR Network Zimbabwe rebrands to ESG Network Zimbabwe

The Corporate Social Responsibility Network Zimbabwe (CSRNZ) is rebranding to Environment, Social and Governance Network Zimbabwe (ESGNZ) to reflect the current realities in the global sustainability space.

HARARE – The Corporate Social Responsibility Network Zimbabwe (CSRNZ) which was founded 7 Years ago to advance best principles of Sustainability and social responsibility in the private and public sectors in Zimbabwe is rebranding to Environment, Social and Governance Network Zimbabwe (ESGNZ) to reflect the current realities in the global sustainability space.

Speaking during the launch which coincided with the 7th Zimbabwe Annual National ESG and Responsible Business Summit held in Victoria Falls last week, ESGNZ Executive Director Willard Razawo said the evolution was necessitated by the rapid evolution of the Sustainability space.

“We have noted consciously that CSR is fast changing hence the need to move with the times. In this regard we have transitioned from CSR Network to ESG network Zimbabwe. He added.

The need for the Environment Social Governance Network (ESG Network Zimbabwe) rebranding exercise from Corporate Social Responsibility Network (CSR Network Zimbabwe) is testimony to the evolution of the field of responsible business, sustainability and social impact.

Razawo added that the new brand colours of turquoise, orange and greyscale inspire action on:

Climate Action & Renewable Energy

  • Sustainable energy: Investing in renewables and reducing carbon emissions/Climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy/ Environmental stewardship: Addressing challenges in water and land use.

Circular economy & Urban Regeneration

  • Circular economy: Opportunities for innovation and sustainable growth/ Sustainable urban development: Building sustainable cities and communities (Cleaner, Safe Cities)

Ethical governance

  • Strategies for preventing corporate misconduct/supply chain transparency and responsible sourcing
  • Shared Value & the Impact of CSR initiatives – People, Planet & Profit — Triple Bottom line.

Agriculture

  • Sustainable agriculture and food systems/Alternative crops in sustainable agriculture.

ESG Network Zimbabwe Board Member Stephen Chikozho added that the brand architecture of an incomplete circular shape on the rebranded network logo also demonstrates the positive work that has been done in the ESG space in Zimbabwe, while at the same time acknowledging the gaps that still exist, and hence need to be addressed.
