About the Responsible business Summit

Responsible Business is the route through which companies take responsibility for their actions and encourage positive impacts through their activities. The responsible business summit will see more than 200 delegates from industry, government and academia in Zimbabwe, Africa and beyond to discuss issues pertaining to Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Responsible Investment in Zimbabwe, Africa and beyond. This international Summit is a platform to share strategies and solutions that tackle sustainability issues and demand business leaders to show that they are leading the change to a sustainable and resilient future.

It’s during these times when we are facing economic challenges as a country that we need to draw closer as a business people to lay emphasis on the importance of responsible business in Zimbabwe. While profit generation remains the primary function of a business, the impact of business on culture, society and the environment has been the subject of intense scrutiny in contemporary business policy and practice.

The recent economic reports paint an austere picture and as a nation we need to put our heads together to discuss and share our thoughts on how we can sustainably forge ahead.

Expected Results

Out of this Responsible Business Summit a lot is expected. It’s high time we implement solutions not to congregate and return to our respective businesses and carry on as before, we as a business people we need to act first so that we encourage change to those hesitant to join the cause. It’s time to Act! It’s time to Lead! We are changing business and impacting change in the nation and Africa as a whole.

  • We must come up with ways to deal with price rise
  • Be prepared for natural disasters like Cyclone Idai
  • Eradicate 15th century diseases like malaria, typhoid, cholera etc.
  • Find lasting and sustainable solutions to the challenge of loss of value of savings particularly Pension funds
  • Most of all the big question of sustainability: – What kind of a Zimbabwe do we want our grandchildren to have?
